Let There Be Spring!

- Letter and Reflections -

As the sun lengthens and warms our days, possibly our spirits as well.

I have been watching out my office window—my gaze lingering on the branches of a nearby cherry crab tree. Each day, I look at the remaining few itty bitty crab apples the Cedar Waxwings haven’t munched upon. Each day, looking for a bit of a bud pushing forth. Today, I was graced with small splashes of green and I couldn’t help but giggle.

We are so very ready for the colder days to disappear, perhaps to absorb the rays of the sun into our tired and fatigued bodies—allowing that warmth to not just be felt on the skin, but sink into the body and warm us from the inside out. Certainly, I feel how the coldness of what is happening in our world and the ongoing exhaustive impact of a world trying to recover. The heartache I hear and notice about me. How do I, how do you, how do we warm ourselves? What does it look like for you this month, day, minute? My connection to yoga allows the warming and nurturing of the self. My breath deepens and slows, I quiet internally and externally. I am able to notice the teeny tiny splash of green on the tree outside my window.

Upon reflection of my own yoga and meditative experiences I am sharing an article from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health https://kripalu.org/resources/meditation-and-yoga-clarity-compassion-and-balance

Your moment to Reflect:
What warms you?
What do you notice?
How do you nurture self?
